BE OUR GUEST
We would love to have you worship with us!
Northwest is an authentic and positive place. We believe that we have so much to celebrate because of what God has done in our lives. We are not a judgmental church. We know that we are reliant upon God for forgiveness, and He is our only means of salvation. We could be described as a relaxed and casual group of people who are excited and passionate about worshiping & serving God.

We love kids and we're excited to welcome yours. When you come in on Sunday, you'll notice a check-in station on your left--make your way over to it and someone will be there to help you get your children checked into our system (this is solely to maintain their security and make sure we don't give them back to anyone but you).
During our worship we will have dismissal for our younger kids (1 year old to 2nd grade) to go and have a time of worship and learning during our sermon time.
After worship we have classes for kids of all ages. Classes go from 11-11:45. You can find out more about Faith City by clicking here.

The Churches of Christ can be traced back to the Restoration Movement, a period in American religious history marked by Christians from various denominations aspiring to revive the model of the church depicted in the New Testament.
As an independent congregation, we operate autonomously and are not bound by any external creed or council. Consequently, our practices may differ from those of other Churches of Christ you may have encountered. Nevertheless, we identify ourselves as contributors to the broader movement dedicated to restoring Christianity to the design established by Christ.
The challenges we encounter in this endeavor often revolve around embodying the type of church that aligns with Christ's vision, rather than merely adhering to specific rituals or practices. While we believe we are continually making strides, we acknowledge that we have not fully reached our goal, which is why we characterize it as an ongoing "movement."

All Churches of Christ are autonomous. That means they're often different from one another. Here we encourage women to participate in our Sunday morning worship gathering in a few ways you might not be used to: women often read scripture and lead prayer. We're so glad our men and women want to play a part in serving our congregation, and our desire is to empower them in whatever ways please and glorify God. If you'd like to hear more about our thoughts on this, check out our series studying this.

We engage in acapella singing, meaning we worship without instrumental accompaniment. This practice traces back to the earliest Christians who worshiped in this manner, a tradition supported by the New Testament's emphasis on vocal worship.
While we respect those who incorporate instruments into their worship, we find profound beauty in the simplicity and heightened participation fostered by acapella music. It aligns with our desire to honor the historical roots of Christian worship.
For those new to the faith or hesitant about singing, there's absolutely no pressure. Feel free to simply listen and take your time becoming comfortable with this aspect of our worship. Your presence is valued, and we welcome everyone to engage with our community in a way that feels right for them.

According to scripture, communion, also known as "the Lord's Supper," serves as a memorial for those who have entered into a covenant relationship with God. It is a special time dedicated to reflecting on the sacrifice of Jesus, rejoicing in the rescue and forgiveness it has brought into our lives, and reaffirming our commitment to our relationship with God. Additionally, communion is a moment of celebration, emphasizing our unity and connection as fellow followers of Jesus.
Keeping these meaningful aspects in mind, if you feel it resonates with you to partake in communion, you are more than welcome to do so. It's a shared experience that symbolizes our shared faith and commitment to our spiritual journey together.
