July Youth Stuff Ahead

Check out what the NWYG is up to this July!

Summer is in full swing, and we have lots of fun things happening in July to keep it going! Don’t forget, printed calendars are always available in the hallway across from the Teen Center door. See below for details on all of our July events!

Feeding Tampa Bay!

Working in the FTB warehouse has become a favorite activity for our teens! Get your serving hands dirty and come help us pack food to help feed folks across our cities. If you come, you’ll pack boxes with food and supplies in a super fun atmosphere. We’re serving on July 5th from 12:00-4:15, as well as on August 3rd from 9:00-11:30. We can take up to 8 teens each time, and anyone who doesn’t get to go on July 5th will get first dibs on August 3rd. We also need 1 adult for this Tuesday. Sign for July 5th below!

Cornhole Baseball with the Senior Ministry!

On Thursday, July 7th at 11:30 am, we’re playing a game of cornhole baseball against the members of the Senior Ministry! Barbara Luke (who runs the ministry) has invited us to come out and enjoy some fun along with grilled hot dogs, popcorn, and your favorite ballpark snacks. If you don’t know what cornhole baseball is, don’t worry! It’s easy and a ton of fun (and a little hilarious sometimes, too). Make plans to be there!

Nashville Team Training

We are going to Nashville! If you’re registered for Mission: Nashville 2022, then you’re expected to be at our team training on Thursday, July 7th! This is a change from our original date of June 30th in order for more team members to attend (we apologize if this change negatively affected your schedule or plans). We’ll be together from 6:30-8:30 and dinner is included. We’ll go over some details, make sure all your paperwork is in order, and then more importantly, bond as a team! This is always a fun part of the mission trip process, so we hope you’re looking forward to it! Let Casey know if you cannot attend for any reason. Mission Nashville is July 23-29, and attenders will be getting more info in their email this week!

Kayaking & Swimming @ Weeki Wachee

Come out on July 8th for fun in the water at Weeki Wachee! Our friends from North Tampa and Dynamic Youth will be joining us! Drop off at the building by 10:15 if you’re riding the bus, and we’ll be at Weeki Wachee from 12-5. Pick up at Northwest at 6:30.

Cost is $10 and lunch is included. If you have a kayak or canoe, we want you to bring it! Contact Casey to coordinate. Parents are welcome to drive up and join us at the campsite, or you can take the bus! If you plan on going and want a spot on the bus, please make sure to let Casey know in person, by text, or replying to this email so we can guarantee you a spot.

Home Hangout

Home Hangout is a new event, and it’s just what it sounds like. We’ll be hanging out in people’s homes! Once a month, we’ll get together at someone’s home for different types of fun throughout the summer. Our next one will be Friday, July 15th. Check your emails early next week for details on our location and time for this month’s Home Hangout. Reach out to Casey if you’d like to host our August hangout!

Fundraisers

July is the month of fundraisers, and we have 2! Both go towards benefitting our Mission: Nashville efforts, but anyone in the NWYG is welcome to come help!

On Sunday, July 10th after church, we’ll be serving lunch to the whole congregation! Mr. Mike Grimmer is helping us make it happen. We’ll need help with serving, cleaning, and collecting donations. Menu to be announced by this weekend!

Then, one of our favorites is back! The Krispy Kreme Fundraiser is on Saturday, July 16th from 9-11 in the Northwest parking lot, and then again Sunday morning at church! Anyone is welcome to help us sell donuts!

Astroskate

Astroskate will be on Sunday, July 31 from 5:30-7:30! Drop off & pick up will be at Astroskate. More info including cost and location will be in your email later this month!

Plus, all our normal Summer stuff!

Wac is BAC: Wednesdays are back to our Summer routine! Every Wednesday After Class (WAC), we have some kind of fun activity. Sometimes we go out, sometimes we stay in, but we always have a blast. Our next WAC is always announced the week before in class. Our next WAC is Twistee Treat TONIGHT! Pick up for WAC is always 9:30 unless otherwise specified.

TNHO: Tuesday Night Hangouts happen every month! During the year, they are always on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays. But the summer schedule is a little crazier, so make sure to always check our summer calendar to see when we have hangout coming up! In July, we have one on the 12th! THNO is always at the building from 6:00-8:00, food is always included, and it’s always free. During the summers, you can pick up anytime between 8:00 and 8:15!

Sunday Class: Sunday bible class is in full swing! This month, we’re studying the Lord’s Prayer. Class is after worship until 11:45.
